AFFILIATION
We are an Independent, Fundamental Baptist Church. We believe that a church
should be led and under the governance of God and His Holy Word, the Bible.
We believe the Bible is the final authority for everything pertaining to this life,
and the life to come.
CHURCH HISTORY
The Lens Creek Baptist Church for several years was a mission of the Browns Town Baptist Church of Marmet, West
Virginia. On September 9 1899, several brethren and sisters of the Browns Town Baptist Church requested letters to
organize the Browns Town Mission into an independent church at Hernshaw, West Virginia, to be known as the Lens Creek

and called T. G. Bonham as the first pastor. Pastor Bonham served the church until September 1, 1901.
On March 16, 1902, the church met and called J. S. Poe as pastor. Pastor Poe served until September 1, 1906. During his
