Pastor Greg Johnson accepted the call to Lens Creek Missionary Baptist Church in September 2006. Greg was raised in a Christian home, by his father that was a Minister of the Gospel, the late Cecil F. Johnson, and his mother the late, Doris J Johnson of Charleston, WV. Although Pastor Greg was reared in a Christian home and had a Minister for a Father, and an older brother who was also a Preacher, he didn't come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus until later in life. Following high school graduation in 1996, Greg attended West Virginia University Institute of Technology in Montgomery West Virginia, and he received a Bachelor's of Science in Accounting. Not long after graduation, Greg was saved by the Almighty Grace of God, while on his job site. He now is employed by the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department holding the position of Senior Accountant. Greg joined Big Bottom Missionary Baptist Church, shortly after he was saved. Greg began to feel the call to the ministry, but he would avoid it for over three more years. Finally in March 2005 he surrendered to the call to preach under Pastor Fred Christian of Big Bottom Missionary Baptist Church. After announcing his call to preach, Greg began to be used of God in many different churches around the area. In July 2006 he was called to be the first Youth Pastor of Big Bottom Missionary Baptist, but God would only allow him to stay there for approximately two months; for He had another work for him. Greg is currently working on his Master's in Divinity. Pastor Greg has a vision for Lens Creek Baptist, for with out a vision you will surely perish. It is his hearts desire to see the church grow, all the while holding fast to the Word of God. Greg is married to his wonderful wife Kristy, and they have two children. David is age 9, and Madison (Maddy) age 3. |
